Ghanasyam - Rajasthan

Is an Ox, born on 2006-03-17, who joined us on 2006-10-26.

While my mother was giving milk I was welcome at home, but as soon as she stopped I was put on the street. Since I am agressive I managed to take care of myself and it didn't take me long to outgrow the nylon rope they had tied around my neck.. One night it was practically strangling me and I had a coughing fit. A kind soul freed me with a kitchen knife and that was the beginning of my good fortune. The next morning I wandered in the vicinity of Care for Cows and saw a herd of about 100 milling around in the morning. I just knew I wanted to be part of that herd and tried to find my way in the barnyard. After failing to get through the wire fence I decided to jump with all my might and somehow I landed inside. Several of the larger bulls tried tp shoo me off but I managed to evade them. When feeding time came I followed the others into the barn and that is when the cowherd men noticed me trying to find a spot to eat. They gathered around me and gawked about how they didn't have any resident as black as me. They found a secluded place for me and brought me my own basket of fresh grass. After filling my belly they started picking all the tics off me while repeatedly calling me Ghanasyam, Ghanasyam.... black cloud. This is the best place I have ever known.

Human beings see oppression vividly when they're the victims. Otherwise they victimize blindly and without a thought.
