Is an Ox, born on 2000-10-21, who joined us on 2002-05-07.

There is nothing very exciting about my story. I was brought up well enough by some poor owners who could not afford to maintain me after I reached nine months of age. They heard of Care for Cows and begged the cowherd men there to accept me. Since stray bulls are the prime target for slaughterhouse agents, Care for Cows took me in and are providing for my every need. I am strong, healthy, and grateful and will gladly work when I am old enough.

As soon as I realized that I didn't need meat to survive or to be in good health, I began to see how forlorn it all is. If only we had a different mentality about the drama of the cowboy and the range and all the rest of it. It's a very romantic notion, an entrenched part of American culture, but I've seen, for example, pigs waiting to be slaughtered, and their hysteria and panic was something I shall never forget.
